I’m on a mission to eat less takeout and save some money. On a whim, I took my empty oats can and decided that each time I order takeout I’ll add the lowest denominator bill in my wallet. So far it only has 3-dollar bills. This is more of a “penalty charge” but I’ll eventually round out the number and donate the sum to City Harvest NYC. Excess takeout always makes me think of people who do not have enough to eat. And truth be told, takeout usually takes longer than cooking, isn’t as healthy and comes with lots of packaging waste. Making a large vat of soup on Sundays solves all these problems!
